National Golden Retriever Day is a holiday devoted to celebrating the energetic, lovable Golden Retriever. These dogs are known for their intelligence, bubbling personality and willingness to help people everywhere – by course They deserve their own day! Although the holiday is not recognized all over the world, the American Kennel Club recognizes as an official Doggy holiday.

National Golden Retriever Day occurs every year on February 3. Why the 3rd? Of course, this is the founder's dog's birthday!

Originally, 2012 started by Kristen Shroyer, National Golden Retriever Day was made to celebrate Golden Retrievers everywhere, including her own Goldie, Quincy. Although Quincy has passed, Shroyer's vacation still stands as a reminder of how much love Goldens has for the people in their lives and how much love we have for them!
Celebrating Goldies all over the country
If you want to celebrate National Golden Retriever Day with other dog lovers, there are many ways to do so. These fantastic organizations use the holiday to advocate adoption and raise money for local shelters:
New England Golden Jubilee
New England Golden Jubilee does not appear on the National Golden Retriever Day. Instead, it will happen in May (Saturday 20 May this year). The celebration is a massive paper party for Golden Retrievers and their people to run around, play games and socialize.
Golden Retriever Club of America's National Speciality
GCA's national specialty takes place every year in September and shows everything that Golden Retrievers has to offer. Like the Olympics for dogs, the national specialty is an excellent place for Goldie lovers to participate in events, socialize and even meet some famous show dogs!
Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Club
The Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Club specializes in all labs, not just goldies. But they participate in the National Golden Retriever Day every year with fundraisers for the local rescue protection!
Golden Retriever Club in Greater Los Angeles Rescue
The GRCGLA rescue also celebrates Golden Retriever Day by showing off its beautiful Goldies and providing educational resources for Goldie parents.
