Purina Pet Food Plant in Denver Colorado faces another mood. The new mood claims that this Purina facility “The cooking process produces very smelly emissions.” And the mood claims Purina “Have failed to install, maintain, operate, develop and/or implement adequate odor mitigating strategies, processes, technology and equipment to control its smelling emissions from the plant and prevent these smells and emissions from invading homes and properties of the plaintiff.”
One of the class number members says: “The smell causes headaches and nausea, it comes in the house and can also smell clothes of the smell of throw.” Another plaintiff says: “It's like someone barefed in your garden and then baked it in the sun and then put a fan on the smell to keep it circulating.”
This Purina facility has been fined twice by the Denver authorities for “Repeated emissions of harmful smells”; Once in 2021 and again 2024.
2023 found testing of the Denver authorities “More than twice the regulatory threshold for smelling emissions.”
Denver Purina plant produces dry pet food; “Dog Chow, Cat Chow, Kit N Kaboodle, Alpo, Beneful, Purina One Beyond, Purina One and Pro Plan.”

From an interview in 2018 with a Purina -operating about the smell at the facility – the employee said: “Air and heat go through it, so it's the smell,” Rotunno said. “If you made dog fish at home, it's the same way you could smell them.”
Personal opinion: I have cooked a lot of pet food in my home … Never once smelled it as a vomit baked in the sun.
