On June 18, 2025, Pet Food was issued a warning letter from the FDA.
The warning letter was issued after an inspection (follow -up to response that is revoked in September 2024).
Quotes from the warning letter:
“You did not implement sanitation checks to provide insurance that your plant is maintained in a sanitary state that is sufficient to minimize or prevent the risk of environmental catogens, as required by 21 CFR 507.34 (A) (1) and (c) (2).”
“Inspection results indicating that your sanitation prevention control is insufficient include:
“I. FDA investigators collected environmental samples on July 23, 2024, during test 1263703, which revealed the presence of L. monocytogenes on seven areas in your plant, including zone (b) (4) Food contact surfaces.
• Sub -test 15, zone (b) (4)gather on (b) (4) above (b) (4) Grinder Hopper.
• Sub -sample 20, zone (b) (4)gather on (b) (4) of the mixer.
• Monitoring 30, zone (b) (4)gather on (b) (4) next (b) (4).
• Farms Sample 34, zone (b) (4)gather on (b) (4) next (b) (4) adjacent (b) (4) table.
• Sub -sample 36, zone (b) (4)gathered on an obvious (b) (4) for (b) (4) Directly above (b) (4) transport from (b) (4) grinders to (b) (4) grinder.
• Farms Sample 41, zone (b) (4)collected on one (b) (4) of one (b) (4) in the food manufacturing area.
• Farms Sample 44, zone (b) (4)gather on (b) (4) leads to (b) (4). “
“In your reply dated October 18, 2024, you said you discussed the FDA's observations with your staff, you increase cleaning and remediation before production, and you implement further swabbing and environment The procedures provided in the exhibitions to your response have been consistent and justice. We will verify and we will not do so during the new procedures provided in the exhibitions to your response have been throughout and suitable.
“Your procedure” program for delivery chain control “, dated July 24, 2024, indicates that when you apply, you will collect guarantees (logs) and/or certificates for analysis (COAS) from your suppliers. You did not determine and carry out appropriate supplier verification activities and meet all documentation requirements, as required by
“… you could not provide Coas for turkey and pork ingredients used to manufacture your raw pet food between July 22 and July 24, 2024.”
